With World Music Day falling during Pride Month, we couldn't resist bringing you some of our favorite queer musicians and their biggest hits!

  1. Sam smith

He rose to fame in the latter half of 2012 and hasn’t backed down since. He brings tears to our eyes with his strong yet soft voice. His top hits for us have to be 'stay with me’, ‘lay me down’ and ‘I'm not the only one’ . (yes, we’re partial to ‘In the lonely hour’ album)

  1. Troye sivan

Troye Sivan, who began as a YouTuber, is now one of the most popular queer artists. Our hearts were stolen by his songs 'Youth,' 'Strawberries & Cigarettes,' and his most recent release 'You.'

  1. Elton John

When it comes to Elton John, the ‘old is gold’ proverb is proven. It’s impossible to choose a favourite album, let alone a favourite song, because he’s been churning out gold since the sixties.

  1. Ricky martin

He has people across the gender spectrum swooning over him with his dashing looks and suave voice. His top hits 'Live la Vida Loca' and 'She Bangs' are evergreen and you can’t help but dance every time they play.

  1. Kehlani

Kehlani, an American singer and songwriter, has been making music since 2009. She's worked with some of the best, including G-eazy, Zayn, and Justin Bieber. Her song "Good Life" from the Fast and Furious franchise is iconic.

  1. Lady Gaga

Her voice can create earthquakes and calm storms. She belts out pure power and confidence. She has dance hits like poker face and applause and tear jerkers like shallow as well. With her incredible voice, badass attitude and intriguing dress sense, Lady Gaga is one for the books.

lgbtq music artist

These artists have not only broken into, but also excelled in a niche, predominantly non inclusive industry. They opened up a path and inspired so many young artists who belong to the LGBTQ+ community. They live aastey each day by being their true authentic selves.
