moreover, wastewater from garment factories; containing harmful substances like lead and mercury are dumped directly into rivers in many developing countries. It contaminates the water and kills the biodiversity around the rivers and destroying our pristine ecosystems.

there is also a very real human cost to all of this. It is well known that in most developing countries, garment workers are paid wages that are next to nothing and are forced to work for long hours in unsafe conditions.

workers are not provided with basic rights and often work in cramped spaces without any ventilation, all the while breathing in toxic substances and fiber dust in badly maintained buildings.
