DIY Face Masks for different skin types

After a long tiring day, sometimes you just need to put on a face mask and play some Grey’s Anatomy. Sometimes, the store-bought face masks are full of chemicals that could harm our skin, but natural ingredients, you can find in your kitchen, never fail.

For Hyperpigementation

1tbsp yoghurt

1tsp turmeric

1tbsp oats (optional)

Turmeric is an ingredient that is proven to reduce hyperpigmentation. It also helps tighten skin and reduce wrinkles. Yoghurt is a chemical exfoliant, which moisturises the skin as well. The addition of oats is optional, it acts as a physical exfoliator if necessary.

For Oily skin

2 tbsp Multani mitti/ fullers earth

1 tbsp lemon juice

2 tbsp cucumber juice

1 tsp honey

Soak the Multani mitti for half an hour, then add the lemon juice, cucumber juice and honey. The Multani mitti draws out excessive oil, while the cucumber juice tightens pores and gets rid of excess dirt. The lemon juice adds vitamin c to the skin while honey moisturises the skin.

For Dry skin

½ avocado

1 tbsp honey

Mash half an avocado and add honey to it. Avocado regulates oil production and reduces inflammation while honey helps moisturize the skin.

While these are all-natural ingredients, be sure to do a patch test first and check the expiry dates of your products!
