Cannes Film Festival's show stopping outfits of 2021

The Met Gala is the event of the year for fashion and glamour. Unfortunately, we’ve missed the action on that pink carpet for the last two years. The other event which is a playground for fashion is the annual Cannes film festival.

The 2021 Cannes festival did not disappoint. France was filled with a-list stars, their haute courtiers and sparkling gemstones. Let’s take a look at some of those show-stopping outfits:

1. Bella Hadid

The iconic black gown with a lung necklace is a look that will be talked about for years to come. Part of Daniel Roseburrys's fall 2021 collection, this outfit was a bold statement piece that the model carried with elegance and grace.

2. Timothy Chalamet

A silver tux is not exactly what comes to mind when you think of the best dressed, but if anyone can pull it off, it’s Timothy Chalamet. The actor wore a sleek silver suit, a collarless white shirt and white boots, all designed by Tom Ford.

3. Izabel Goulart

Remember when we talked about "is neon back in fashion?" Well, if it’s worn at Cannes, you can be sure it definitely is. Although not on the red carpet, but at Cannes nonetheless, model Izabel Goulart wore a matching neon knit set that would make anyone stop and stare

4. Jodie Turner-Smith

In an ode to her yellow Gucci gown at the 2020 BAFTAS, the British actress donned a stunning gown designed by the same. The corset top was littered with crystals that flowed down into a gradient yellow skirt that had more crystals and yellow ostrich feathers.

5. Spike Lee

Going back to our conversation about neon fashion trends, an example to add to the list would be the award-winning director and screenwriter, Spike Lee. He wore a hot pink Louis Vuitton suit paired with Nike Air Jordan's in the colour of the French flag. Sneakers on the red carpet? Count us in!

Hope this blitzkrieg of fashion inspired you as much as us, let us know if there are any looks you enjoyed but didn't make it to our cut.
