3 reasons to skip your workout

We're all too familiar with exercise guilt. Those restless thoughts keep pricking because you missed a workout. In our previous blogs we have talked about workout routines and gym attires, but today is dedicated to workout guilt. We all have experienced exercise guilt, but sometimes our body actually needs rest, and that is no reason to feel guilty. Don't feel guilty for taking care of yourself! Here are three reasons to skip your workout.

You're sick

If you hit the gym when you're sick, you're going to do more harm to your body than good. Imagine experiencing extreme dehydration and fatigue. How do you expect your body to work? Your body is already working too hard for you. Take a rest day, and give it the love it deserves.

You're sore from a previous workout

If you're so sore from your previous workout that you need support to even get out of bed, please don't feel guilty about missing the gym. Your body needs time to recover. Let it have it. Your body deserves it, and so do you.

You're sleep-deprived

Please don't hit the gym if you are sleep-deprived, the next thing you know, you wake up in the middle of the night feeling nauseated because you exerted your body too much. You don't want that. With lack of sleep, your body cannot even function. How do you expect it to recover from a workout?

So you missed a workout, or maybe you did not work out for a week! It is okay.

Yes, it really is okay. Maybe you were sick, or you wanted to hang out with friends, or you were just in a crappy mood. Whatever may be the case, there is no reason to feel guilty. Remember slow progress is still progress. You will reach your ultimate goal, so stop kicking yourself up, and remember that you are amazing.
